Child & Red Telephone Box - London Street Photography

Nico Goodden December 30, 2020

Child & Red Telephone Box // London street photography.

This shot was taken near Covent Garden in London. I stood in front of these phone boxes and waited for a little while for the right person to step into the scene and my viewfinder.

This child came running and stopped right in front of the towering almost imposing red telephone box.

CLICK!

There is so much symmetry going on in this image and I believe the rule of thirds is of prime importance in such photographs.

See how it all aligns? The child standing where the lines cross, the windows centred on those same lines, the three “telephone” signs aligned…

Me obsessive??? No way!

If this subject interests you, my latest article delves deep into the importance of understanding the rule of thirds in photography:

RULE OF THIRDS IN PHOTOGRAPHY

I hope you’ll find useful applications in your own photography.

Until next time.
