Elderly Couple - London Street Photography

Nico Goodden January 4, 2021

Elderly Couple // London street photography.

Many of you will be familiar with this image I shot nearly 10 years ago. This was one of my very first “street photo”.

It was the one which in a way started it all, motivating me to keep striving for better photography as it was commended at the 2014 International Street Photography awards

But all photos have a story, some more than others. This is one of them.

At the time I took this photo of this elderly couple a bit “on the go”, I smiled, took the shot and said thank you, then I moved on.

But it left me with an uncomfortable feeling of having stolen the shot and for years I regretted not having stopped for a chat.

Some years went by. One day I decided to do something about it and use Twitter to find them again. I did, remarkably fast. Sadly I found out that the gentleman had died since but I got in touch with his widow and sent her the print which turned to be very well received.

READ THE FULL STORY:

THE STORY BEHIND MY PHOTO OF AN ELDERLY COUPLE IN LONDON

Until next time.
