Double Decker Bus on a Rainy Day - London Urban Photography

Nico Goodden January 5, 2021

Double Decker Bus on a Rainy Day // London urban photography.

There’s a child-like joy associated with sitting at the front of the top deck of a double decker bus cruising around London. I loved it just as much as a kid as I do now. No shame here.

I often sit there and just let myself be driven around without really any destination in mind. I find it a good way to find new spots to photograph and discover areas I wouldn’t if I didn’t get lost a little. Just hop on the first bus that comes along.

Wandering or getting slightly lost is an amazing way to find inspiration in photography and I recommend it to anyone suffering from a lull. It allows you to be surprised and stimulated instead of bored with your usual surroundings which you maybe have photographed a little too often.

I’ve written a quite a lot on the subject of urban and street photography, maybe one of these articles can help you find inspiration too:

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY ON LONDON’S PUBLIC TRANSPORT

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY THROUGH WINDOWS

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS AND TECHNIQUES

Until next time.
