St Paul's Cathedral from One New Change - London Architecture Photography

Nico Goodden January 6, 2021

St Paul’s Cathedral from One New Change // London Architecture Photography.

I was once hired by Land Securities (the largest commercial property development and investment company in the United Kingdom). They commissioned me to shoot the areas surrounding a few of their new developments.

This is one of many images I produced.

I just used this image to illustrate my latest article on the importance of symmetry in photography (link below)

In the article I highlight in red the mirror line or axis of symmetry.

Symmetry feels good and there must be a reason for it.

It is a need for humans, if our bodies were not symmetrical we would find it harder to walk and find balance. Symmetry is something we seek, we translate the symmetry we observe in nature such as the wings of a bird to our own designs such as planes.

Read more about my thoughts on the importance of symmetry in photography in my latest article part of a wider series covering different aspects of photographic composition:

SYMMETRY PHOTOGRAPHY EXAMPLES

Until next time.
